Michael A. Brewer


Michael A. Brewer is a founding principal and a trial lawyer with extensive civil and trial experience. He specializes in business and commercial litigation, credit card processing, cross border fraud and business tort litigation, personal injury, premises liability, products liability, wrongful termination, and serves the business, commercial, credit card, retail, manufacturing and development industries in California and Asia. Mr. Brewer has a very diverse and complex practice with many of his individual and corporate clients domiciled in Hong Kong, Taiwan and China. He is a member of the State Bar of California (1985) and admitted to the California Supreme Court and U.S. District Court of Appeals.

Mr. Brewer has handled several high profile cases in his career including serving as the co-lead counsel for the plaintiffs in the O.J. Simpson civil trial which resulted in a $33,000,000.00 verdict for plaintiffs. Mr. Brewer has obtained numerous seven and eight figure verdicts including verdicts listed in the top twenty verdicts in the State of California for the year of the verdict. Mr. Brewer also has extensive media experience and has appeared on “Larry King Live”, “CBS, NBC and ABC Nightly News” and numerous other television and radio programs to provide expert opinion and analysis. He has been invited by Court TV to be a legal analyst on the legal aspects of various high profile civil trials pending throughout the country. Mr. Brewer has been featured in the Los Angeles Daily Journal for his successful defense of recording star Warren “g” and his record company G-Funk music and featured in the Los Angeles Times and the Los Angeles Daily Journal for his representation of Diane Latona, which resulted in a published opinion found at LATONA and AETNA US HEALTHCARE, ( 82 F. Supp 2d 1089 (C.D.) Cal., Sept. 27, 1999 ). The RUFO v. O.J. Simpson case also resulted in a published opinion which can be found at 86 Cal. App 4th 573.

Mr. Brewer majored in political science at California State University at Fullerton, receiving his B.A. in 1982. While in college, Mr. Brewer participated in a foreign policy intensive study program for selected students in Washington, D.C. focusing on U.S. relations with the Soviet Union and China. He earned his J.D., Cum Laude, in 1985 from Whittier Law School where he was a member of Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity.

Mr. Brewer is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Admittance to ABOTA is restricted and by invitation only. All ABOTA members must possess and adhere to its strict requirements for jury trial experience, legal expertise and ethics. Mr. Brewer is currently a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. Mr. Brewer has served as a court-appointed arbitrator for the County of Los Angeles and lectured on discovery and pre-trial preparation for Law Seminars International. Mr. Brewer was born in Fullerton, California. He currently resides in Newport Beach, California, is an avid golfer and a member of Newport Beach Country Club.
